  • Although made to be as strong as possible, dentures are fabricated out of acrylic and may break if not careful.

  • Dentures may require a repair for many reasons, including during usual function (ill-fitting dentures, grinding your teeth, etc), or if they are dropped onto a hard surface.

  • Denture repairs come in many varieties. They can include breaks or cracks in the pink base, chipped or broken teeth.

  • If a piece of the denture base or a tooth breaks off of your denture, try to keep it if you can. This may make the repair easier to complete, and in less time.

  • Some repairs may require an impression. In this case, your Denturist will take the impression when you drop off your denture.

  • Mesh or wire reinforcements can be embedded into the acrylic denture base to strengthen your denture in the future. This can be done when the denture is first made or during the repair process.

  • Many repairs can be completed as a same-day service, however, depending on the severity of the required repair, it may need an extra day or two to complete.

  • To ensure the best fit possible after a repair, it is essential that the denture fit back together perfectly. Please refrain from using adhesives like crazy glue to repair your denture at home while waiting for the repair appointment, as this will make it nearly impossible to reattach the pieces in their original position.
